airSniffler
Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take to fully charge airSniffler?
The device will usually be fully charged in one hour.
What are the possible RGB LED colours and what do they mean?
Blinking blue – NO2 or VOC high level warning
Solid yellow – charging
Solid green – fully charged
Red — device is restarting
Does airSniffler have IP rating?
No. airSniffler is not dust or waterproof. NO2/VOC sensor and humidity sensor both require direct outside air contact to work properly.
When to use the “Clean Sensor” function that is available from the app?
The “Clean Sensor” function can be used if NO2/NOC sensor has been exposed to high concentration of pollutants, chemicals, or prolonged time of high humidity (above 95% level). These events can “poison” the sensor, so that readings will stay high even after end of exposure. The cleaning process raises the surface temperature of the sensor for an hour. Please allow up to 24 h for the sensor to normalize after the process.
How accurate is the temperature sensor?
airSniffler uses a premium Swiss-made (Sensirion) temperature/humidity combo sensor that is pre-calibrated in the factory. Due to the case design, temperature readings can take about 5-10 min to stabilize. The specified accuracy of the sensor is +/- 0.2 °C, so it should be much more accurate than most consumer-grade thermometers. Feel free to check out airSniffler Data Sheet PDF for more technical details. Also, remember that temperature readings will be way off while charging due to heating effect.
Can I download the data that is collected by the app?
Yes, you can. airSniffler app has a function called “Export History Logs” which generates a CSV file with all stored data points. The file can be viewed in Excel or any generic text editor.
